The 26-year-old was reportedly at the Nutley home she shares with her boyfriend when her ex-boyfriend, Michael Siculietano, kicked down the door Sunday.
Police say the 29-year-old attacked the boyfriend before stealing $3,000 in cash and forcing Nowak to leave in the boyfriend's car.
The Nutley police chief says officers got a tip that both Nowak and Siculietano were in a hotel in Rutherford. Police went and found them.
Nowak was reportedly unhurt, and charges are pending against Siculietano.
