'America's Most Wanted' fugitive caught

HAMPTON BAYS Erick Morales was stopped near the Hampton Bays train station on eastern Long Island early Monday. He initially told officers his name was Carlos Billamarin, but they said a fingerprint check determined he was really 27-year-old Morales.

Morales waived extradition at a hearing Wednesday in Suffolk County Court in Riverhead. He will be sent back to California, where prosecutors are expected to charge him with murder in the stabbing of a 15-year-old high school classmate.

He was 16 at the time of the incident.

State police say Morales was living in Hampton Bays for at least four years.

Morales has been featured on "America's Most Wanted."
