Girl who didn't remember herself identified

NEW YORK She is an 18 year old who was reported missing earlier this month on the West Coast.

Police are working on reuniting the girl with her family. Police say the girl is from Washington State.

NYC children's services was asking for help in ID'ing a girl who doesn't know who she is.

The girl was found two weeks ago in Midtown and says she has no memory of her name, her home or her family.

"She is safe with us, and we are doing all we can to help her, but she needs to find her family," ACS Commissioner, John B. Mattingly said.

At one point recently,the girl wrote down the name "Amber," and responded to the name on one occasion, but she says she has no idea whether or not it is her name.
