A portion of a ceiling collapsed on a toddler in a bedroom in the Claremont section of the Bronx Wednesday. The 2-year-old girl, named Diamond, was injured in the collapse, inside an apartment at 1410 Grand Concourse.

The cause is under investigation.

The girl's father said a large portion of the ceiling collapsed onto her. He found his daughter on the floor, covered in debris.

"I ran down and grabbed her, and as I was coming out, another part of the ceiling fell," he said.

She sustained bumps and bruises and was taken to Lincoln Medical Center for treatment.
