NJ hospital goes to backup generator during outage

NEW BRUNSWICK

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital says it never lost power during an outage Tuesday night in New Brunswick, about halfway between New York City and Philadelphia.

Spokesman Peter Haigney says the 600-bed hospital used the generator from 10:30 to around 11 o'clock and had full power after. He says it never lost power and normal operations continued during the outage. He says no patients had to be moved.

The PSE&G energy company hasn't responded to e-mail and telephone messages seeking comment on the outage.
