Police say Leticia Chavez, of Port Chester, was driving the wrong way on Westchester Avenue and caused a head-on collision around 7:34 p.m. on Sunday.
Chavez also does not have a New York driver's license and is a citizen of Mexico, according to authorities.
The people inside the other car involved suffered just minor injuries.
Chavez and the boy suffered severe injuries and are currently being held at the Westchester Medical Center.
Harrison police say that Chavez is charged with four felony counts ranging from reckless endangerment, aggravated DWI child and three counts of vehicular assault.
She was also issued citations for unlicensed operation and having open alcohol containers in her car.
A detainer was filed by ICE and they are currently investigating the status of her citizenship.
