A Bronx man who spent more than two decades in prison for a rape he didn't commit was awarded a record settlement from the city.

Alan Newton will receive $18.5 million after he served 22 years - half of his life - behind bars. He spent 10 years of that time seeking the rape kit from his case.

The NYPD finally found it in a warehouse, and improved DNA testing proved Newton was innocent.

Since his release in 2006, Newton has finished college and says he wants to attend law school.
