The man who admitted being drunk and talking on a cell phone when his car caused a crash that killed a police officer was sentenced to 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison Friday.

Jose Borbon, 24, pleaded guilty in November to vehicular manslaughter and aggravated DWI.

Borbon's car smashed into a police cruiser driven by Suffolk County police officer Glen Ciano in Commack in February 2009.

Ciano was killed when his cruiser slammed into a utility pole and exploded.

Six weeks before the deadly wreck, Borbon had been released on bail for a separate DWI case in Nassau County.
