Two separate funerals on L.I. for fallen officers

LONG ISLAND

The men died in separate incidents, and are both set to be laid to rest today.

The funeral for /*NYPD*/ officer /*Alain Schaberger*/ will be at /*Chapey and Sons Funeral Home*/ in /*East Islip*/.

A burial will follow the ceremony, at /*Long Island National Cemetery*/ in /*Farmingdale*/.

Friend, family, and fellow officers gathered at a wake for Schaberger yesterday.

He was killed on Sunday when police say a suspect pushed him over a railing in Brooklyn, sending him falling nine feet down to a concrete staircase.

Schaberger fell on his head, and broke his neck.

Meantime just a short trip away in /*Selden*/, loved ones will say farewell to Nassau county officer /*Geoffery Breitkopf*/.

The ceremony will be at/*St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church*/, followed by a burial at /*Holy Sepulchre Cemetery*/ in /*Coram*/.

Breitkopf was killed when an MTA officer mistakenly shot him Saturday, following a standoff with a knife-wielding suspect in /*Massapequa*/.

That suspect was also shot and killed.

Brietkopf, a 12-year veteran of the force, was assigned to the elite special operations bureau, and was in plainclothes at the time.

Mourners attended a tearful wake for him Wednesday, at the Selden firehouse where he volunteered.
