2 wanted for string of Bronx robberies

THE BRONX Police say the suspects have the same approach: they pick their target, beat him up and steal his belongings before running away.

"The cops asked me for the video because a guy was robbed over there," Steven Torres said.

Torres certainly wants the robbers off the street.

His own wife was robbed down the block.

"He took a gun out and robbed her phone," Torres explained.

At various locations around /*Hunts Point*/, /*Longwood Avenue*/, and /*Hall Place*/, police say two men in their late teens or early twenties have been stealing cell phones, wallets, sneakers, and jewelry off various victims.

7 of them total.

The two thieves often throw a punch before taking what they want.

Police say the men have robbed two men in their 50's, three in their 20's and one in his 30's and more.

"Yeah, this is a problem here," Javanneti Perez said.

"You shouldn't feel locked up in your own house," Danny Vega said.

It's a concern for people around here as they try to enjoy the last few weeks of summer.

Lorraine Collins says she and her neighbors live with these worries.

Danny vega wishes they didn't have to.

"I hope they catch them. That way people can be at peace," Vega said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
