Police say officer /*Luis Arnao*/, who is assigned to the /*Bronx*/, struck 22-year-old /*Tyre Chisholm*/ in the intersection of 241 Street and White Plains Road.
The 25-year-old Arnao stayed at the scene.
The victim was rushed to Montefiore Hospital, and then transferred to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Arnao was arrested, suspended from duty and charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
