Future bride, groom forced to jump from Conn. fire

STAMFORD, Conn.

Fahad Sheikh told the Stamford Advocate (http://bit.ly/pFUFBU) that his fiance suffered a bump on her head and scrapes on her knee after she jumped to a brick patio to escape the fire early Saturday in Stamford.

The 30-year-old Sheikh said his fiance, whom he identified only as Zuhra, was treated and released at a local hospital.

The fire was reported at about 2 a.m. Firefighters said they arrived to find flames coming from both sides of the house and the roof.

More than 50 people were inside the house before they were forced to flee Saturday.
