A not guilty verdict was reached for a Newark Police detective accused of assaulting a teenager, but his legal troubles may not be over yet.

A jury acquitted Angel Pared of the most serious charge he faced, for a March 2010 scuffle that injured a 15-year-old boy.

But, the jury deadlocked on three other counts, of official misconduct and falsifying public records.

Prosecutors say they'll decide later whether to retry him on those charges.
