Cop shoots man brandishing BB gun in Queens

QUEENS

Police say the 46-year-old suspect refused to drop the weapon, painted black, when ordered to by police.

According to The New York Times, the man was shot once in the torso as he fled the attempted carjacking in Queens on Thursday.

He was in listed in stable condition.

The NYPD says the man approached an elderly man sitting in his car around 1 p.m. and pointed the BB gun at him. He struck the man across the arm with the weapon after telling him he was taking his car.

Police say he then fled on foot and refused to drop the gun when they caught up with him.
