Last week on this show, we heard from Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott and Deputy Mayor Howard Wolfson. They vented their frustrations with the teachers union.

The union has yet to reach an agreement with the city regarding teacher evaluations and that is putting the city in a jam because New York could lose out on 60 million dollars in grants for 33 struggling schools.

Now, Governor Cuomo is threatening to withhold additional state funding from school districts that do not adopt a new teacher evaluation system by next year.

So what is holding up the process? If city officials say it's not us, is it the union?

The president of the United Federation of Teachers, Mike Mulgrew, joins us for this week's show.
