Suffolk County police say an SUV rolled over at 1:30 this morning at the intersection of Caroline Avenue and Oaks Street in Port Jefferson.
Michael Peggs, 23, was declared dead at the scene.
His 23-year-old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
She is in critical condition at Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Police say it doesn't appear that icy roads were a factor in the accident, however the roads were wet at the time.
