New surveillance in hit and run of Bronx mother

NEW YORK

The video shows a Jeep Wrangler seconds before it hit and killed the woman, a teacher at Bronx Mathematics Prep School.

There are photos, flowers and a teddy bear in an outpouring of sympathy on the corner of White Plains Road and story Avenue in the Soundview Section of the Bronx.

It is where 42-year-old Dawn Affoumani was killed by a hit and run driver.

Tuesday night, police released surveillance video of a red jeep wrangler.

Officials say the video shows the jeep seconds before it strikes the pedestrian trying to cross the street.

Authorities are hoping the video will lead to an arrest.

Affoumani lost her life on February 11th, while innocently bringing groceries home for her family.

She was a wife, a mother of 2 boys, and a social studies teacher.

Her life was all about giving to others.

Tuesday night, they mourn her still.
