Scientists may soon come up with a hair-raising solution to baldness, or at least a way to help prevent it.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have discovered a protein they're calling PGD2.

It is more plentiful in bald areas of the head and believed to causes hair to shed.

Scientists say if they can find a way to block PGD2 from binding onto hair follicle receptors, they could stop baldness.
