Two officers involved in Sean Bell shooting to retire

NEW YORK

Detectives Michael Oliver and Marc Cooper are expected to hand in their retirement papers after both reached deals to leave the force and forfeit some pay, but both men will keep their pensions.

Detective Gescard Isnora, the man who fired the first shot, was dismissed from the force last week.

The fourth officer, Lieutenant Gary Napoli, will also retire.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly made the decision to push the four officers out Friday, four months after a department administrative trial judge concluded that Isnora acted improperly in the 2006 killing of the 23-year-old would-be groom.
