Man gets new wheelchair after Brooklyn theft

A new wheelchair is being delivered to a man from Brooklyn whose old wheelchair was stolen while he was at church.

The wheelchair for Bryan Daly was donated by a car dealership.

But Daly, who has cerebral palsy, is so overwhelmed by the support he received that he is thinking about starting a foundation to collect wheelchairs for people in need.

Daly traditionally uses the electric wheelchair to get the five blocks to church, parks it outside the church door and switches to a manual wheelchair stored at the church. But while Bryan was inside the St. James Lutheran Church on Gerritsen Avenue in the Gerritsen Beach area last month, someone made off with his electric wheelchair.
