Man gets new wheelchair after Brooklyn theft

GERRITSEN BEACH

The wheelchair for Bryan Daly was donated by a car dealership.

But Daly, who has cerebral palsy, is so overwhelmed by the support he received that he is thinking about starting a foundation to collect wheelchairs for people in need.

Daly traditionally uses the electric wheelchair to get the five blocks to church, parks it outside the church door and switches to a manual wheelchair stored at the church. But while Bryan was inside the St. James Lutheran Church on Gerritsen Avenue in the /*Gerritsen Beach*/ area last month, someone made off with his electric wheelchair.
