Investigators say Ronald Wallace was shot in the back on the corner of Tapscott Street and Blake Avenue in Brownsville just before 1:00 Friday morning.
Wallace was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital a short time later.
Just after dawn, investigators recovered a gun in the bushes near the scene of the shooting.
No information about a motive for the shooting or who might have done it has been released.
