5 arrests during DWI checkpoint at Holland Tunnel

JERSEY CITY

Port Authority spokesman All Della Fave says three motorists were charged with drunken driving, while two others were arrested after officers discovered they were wanted on outstanding warrants in New Jersey.

The checkpoint was staged from 10 p.m. Friday through about 5 a.m. Saturday.

Overall, 125 vehicles were stopped during the operation. Della Fave says summonses were issued for various violations, ranging from drivers not wearing seat belts to vehicle equipment matters.
