Several vehicles in Huntington were vandalized

HUNTINGTON, New York Paul Nosak, of Tulsa-based Nosak Tree Service, said his crew returned to work Saturday morning and found three slashed tires, severed air lines on a tractor-trailer and damage to the engine of a lifting machine.

One of his truck's fuel tanks had also been drained of an estimated $1,000 worth of diesel, he said.

"It hurts," he said. "It kind of puts a tear in your eye."

Nosak said his crew was doing a job for Huntington Baptist Church on Oakwood Road on Friday and left their trucks parked nearby that night on New Street.

The company has been in Long Island for about two weeks. For the last decade, Nosak said he has traveled around the country to work and help communities recover from hurricanes, tornadoes and other disasters.

Suffolk police said the incident was under investigation.
