New York City redesigns flood map in Hurricane Sandy's wake

Superstorm Sandy and the evacuations it forced apparently taught New York City hall a tough lesson, and now officials have redrawn some flood maps.

As the storm approached, the evacuation map used by officials was divided into just three zones, containing more than two million people.

Now there's a new map with six zones, expanded to cover more territory.

The zones cover 37 percent of all the homes in the city, and officials say the redesign gives them more room to make decisions.
