Police on Long Island are searching for a man they say stole a car after stabbing his father.

Investigators say 23-year old Eric Georgoulakos got into an argument with his father in their home Friday afternoon on Grant Street in South Farmingdale in Nassau County.

They say the son stabbed his father in the head and torso, then went to a neighbor's home and asked if he could use the bathroom and the phone.

After being admitted to the house, he allegedly took the keys to their SUV and drove off.

Police say he's driving a tan 2004 Chevy Trailblazer with Pennsylvania plates, with the number HKE-2644.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call 911.

The father is recovering from his injuries.
