Learning more about the bikers in the SUV attack

October 7, 2013

Why in the world don't we know this yet? We're following developments tonight at 11, as more people have been charged with the brutal and senseless biker attack.

Also at 11, some severe weather rushed into our area today, tornado watches, thunderstorm warnings, downed trees and power lines, and problems with mass transit. Meteorologist Lee Goldberg has been tracking the storms all day, he's got his AccuWeather forecast, and lets us know if the severe weather is over. And our Jim Dolan is out and about in the damage.

It's also the 12th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, in retaliation for the Sept. 11 attacks, as Americans tried to squelch the Taliban, Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. It is now the longest war in U.S. history, and despite all the talk of withdrawal, there remain 54,000 or so American troops in that country. In fact, four Americans were killed by an IED yesterday, bringing the death toll this year to 110. And the war is winding down?

And we're keeping an eye on Washington, where, according to political analysts and experts, there are enough votes in the House to vote for a "clean" Continuing Resolution to stop the federal government shutdown and keep the so-called "Obamacare" intact.

So why isn't House Speaker John Boehner calling for a vote? Pressure from the Tea Party minority? We'll have the latest at 11.

We'll also have any breaking news of the night, plus Rob Powers with the night's sports. I hope you can join Sade Baderinwa and me, tonight at 11.
