A red SUV was driving on Jefferson Avenue in Elizabeth when it suddenly stopped. Shots were fired from the SUV, and the driver sped off and clipped a bus that was loaded with senior citizens.
The senior citizens were loaded off the bus and put on to a different one.
The Elizabeth Police Department says that no one was hit by the shots, and it is unclear what the gunman was shooting at.
Another vehicle was also struck, and street signs were knocked over.
The Elizabeth Police Department says that the car involved in the accident was found around the corner from the accident scene, and no one was inside.
Police do not currently have anyone in custody.
