The woman was attacked near the intersection of Farragut Road and East 99th Street sometime after 5 a.m. on Thursday.
She was not seriously injured.
Police tracked the suspects, possibly in a taxi cab, several blocks away to Newport Street and Van Sinderen Avenue.
Three suspects were taken into custody after a brief foot chase outside Linden Boulevard.
The officers property, including her cell phone, were found scattered on the sidewalk.
