Long Island man arrested in string of robberies

Police on Long Island have arrested a Nesconset man in connection with a string of armed robberies and a burglary that occurred during the past month.

Suffolk County detectives arrested 27-year-old James Botti on Middle Avenue in Holtsville Sunday.

He allegedly robbed a gas station, a party store, a video store and an Italian ice store, and also burglarizing a home. The spree began at a Ralph's Italian Ices in Nesconet on December 9.

The most recent incident happened at a Game Stop in Lake Grove on December 19.

Botti is charged with three counts of second-degree robbery, one count of third-degree robbery and one count of second-degree burglary.
