Firefighters in New Jersey had to battle the bitter cold and ice in addition to flames burning through a home in Paterson Tuesday morning.

The flames broke out around 1 a.m. at the house on Park Avenue.

The home and power lines around it were coated with icicles.

The fire was brought under control by daybreak, but firefighters remained on the scene to deal with the ice created while fighting the fire.

The temperature in Paterson was around 6 degrees, but felt much colder with the gusting wind.
