An elderly man was killed Monday when he was hit by a backhoe moving snow in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.

The privately operated backhoe was moving snow off of Oceana Drive West when it backed up and struck the victim, 73-year old Stanislav Chernyshov.

Chernyshov was crossing Oceana Terrace at about noon when he was hit, police say.

He suffered severe head trauma, and was pronounced dead at Coney Island Hospital.
