Steam release causes concerns of fire at 1 WTC
AJ Ross reports from Lower Manhattan.

LOWER MANHATTAN (WABC) -- Authorities took to social media Tuesday night to re-assure New Yorkers after steam coming from 1 World Trade Center caused concern that the building was on fire.

The Port Authority says there is an HVAC unit on the roof of 1 World Trade that occasionally emits steam.

For some reason, the steam, mixed with the lights, gave off an illusion that the building was on fire.

Both the FDNY and the NYPD responded to the concerns via Twitter, trying to alleviate any fear about a possible fire.
