ROOSEVELT (WABC) -- A Long Island woman is under arrest and facing felony charges after police say she was involved in a hit and run Monday night with her 5-year-old daughter in the car.

The incident happened on Beechwood Avenue in Roosevelt just after 8 p.m.

Responding officers observed a 2006 Toyota across the street that has apparently struck a 2009 Dodge.

A 20-year-old female was found sitting on a curb who told police she was a passenger in the Toyota, and that the driver, identified as 26-year-old Noel Gerald, had struck the Dodge and then fled the scene with the little girl.

Subsequently, police were able to locate Gerald at her residence, along with her daughter. Police determined that she was intoxicated and placed her into police custody. She allegedly passed out and was transported to an area hospital in a Nassau County police ambulance.

Gerald's daughter was also transported to a local hospital and treated for a complaint of pain in her chest. The 20-year-old on the curb was a front-seat passenger and was also transported and treated for chest pain.

During a search of the vehicle prior to an impound, two prescription pill bottles were recovered that contained Q PAP and Ondansetron, along with a bottle of peach Vodka.

Gerald is charged with third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, DWAI, aggravated driving while intoxicated (Leandra's Law), endangering the welfare of a child and leaving the scene of an incident.
