NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- Two art teachers were struck and injured after a crash in Newark on Wednesday morning.

It happened right outside Arts High School on MLK Boulevard just after 10:30 a.m.

Police say two cars crashed, sending one into the wall of the school and striking the victims.

The two women are both art teachers at East Ward Elementary.

One woman remains in critical condition while the other remains in the OR.

The drivers of the cars were also both taken to the hospital but are expected to survive.

Wednesday was a staff development day so students had the day off and no students were at the building.

There is no word on what caused the crash.
