CLIFTON. N.J. (WABC) -- Three workers were injured in a three-alarm fire and small industrial explosion Friday morning.
The fire broke out inside AGL Welding Supply in the 600 block of Route 46 just before 7 a.m. as workers transferred oxygen from main supply to cylinders. During the transfer there was an explosion. Oxygen was still leaking when firefighters arrived. There were several more minor explosions before oxygen was capped.
Three employees were hurt; one sustained serious burns taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, and the other two had minor injuries.
Route 46 has reopened and New Jersey Transit service has resumed with delays.
There were no evacuations of nearby homes.
