2 injured when airport hangar under construction collapses in Morristown, NJ

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (WABC) -- Two workers were injured Friday when an airport hangar under construction collapsed in New Jersey.

The incident happened about 11:15 a.m. at the Morristown Municipal Airport.

One person, a 35-year old construction worker from Toms River, was injured in a fall and sustained serious injuries to his leg.

He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Another worker, a 37-year old man from Little Egg Harbor, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation.

The hangar was only partially constructed with steel erector beams when it collapsed.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials and police were investigating.
