Person hit by LIRR train

DEER PARK - According to officials, the person was struck around 4:00 at Suffolk and Grant in Brentwood. The person was still alive, officials said.

LIRR service on the Ronkonkoma Branch was suspended in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma for about an hour.

Officials said delays up to 45 minutes could be expected through the evening rush hour.
