Crime wave rocks Dunellen

DUNELLEN, N.J. - In the last three weeks, there have been a string of burglaries and attacks in Dunellen.

The latest crime happened over the weekend when a resident was attacked in her driveway on Walnut Street.

The crimes have been spread throughout the community on both the north and south sides of town.

No real crime patterns have emerged although some victims are senior citizens and at least two crimes involved home invasions.

Some of the burglaries have taken place in broad daylight, but other attacks have occurred at night.

The police department has beefed up street patrols since the crime wave began, but so far no arrests.
