Security guard gunned down

BRONX The shooting happened at 280 East 161st Street in the Concourse Village section.

Brian McCray was working the overnight hours at the apartment building. The 35-year-old was gunned down on the job at 3:30 a.m. He moved to the Bronx only six months ago.

Police have made no arrests have no motive. His family is left with anger and tears.

"He was a lovely young man," aunt Blanch Donovan said. "And just to know that this could actually happen overnight. And to wake up this Sunday to hear news like that, it's really a shocking surprise to me."

McCray's relatives drove up from Delaware to identify the body. They say he has a wife and a 4-year-old son in South Carolina. He was unable to find work there, and came to New York. His son has not yet been told of his death.

"Brian was a hard worker," aunt Kimberly Miller said. "He always tried to do the right thing. He worked a lot, trying to support his son. That's why he's here."
