Fatal third-alarm fire in New Jersey

NORTH BRUNSWICK Newscopter-7 was live over the scene.

The fire reportedly broke out in the two story North Brunswick Manor apartment complex off Route 1 just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Eyewitness News is told one person found unconscious by firefighters was rushed taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.

Firefighters apparently thought they had the blaze out Wednesday night, but it rekindled Thursday morning -- sending firefighters back to the scene.

The fire damaged at least four apartments, while causing heavy smoke damage to the rest.

Officials say numerous residents were evacuated and taken to Arthur M. Judd Elementary School in the township.
