Prosecutors said 28-year-old Keston Brown was driving drunk and distracted by a passenger when his van veered onto a crowded sidewalk in March 2009.
29-year-old Ysemny Ramos was killed, and her friend was injured.
Ramos was three months pregnant at the time.
Brown admitted he was drinking before the crash.
He faces up to 15 years in prison when he's sentenced next month.
