It happened outside 748 39th Street in Sunset Park at about 1:15 a.m.
Police say it started after a group of men made a comment to a woman walking on the street.
According to investigators, that woman told her husband, and he and a friend confronted the men.
A fight broke out, and one of the men opened fire.
35-year old Jonny Rosado was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital.
The second victim, a 24-year old man, was shot in the leg and is in stable condition at Lutheran Medical Center.
Witnesses say the incident appears to have started at a club.
So far there have been no arrests.
