Nassau County car thief suspect arrested

HEMPSTEAD

Police say 16-year old Jordon J. Jackson stole cars out of the driveways of homeowners who were warming up their vehicles.

A 64-year old man went into his home after starting his 2000 Toyota on Juliet Road, and when he went back outside, he saw the vehicle had been stolen.

Two other vehicles, a 2011 Honda and 2005 Mercedes Benz, were stolen in similar fashion from women on Glen Road and Woodfield Road, according to police.

Police say Jackson was arrested Saturday morning after being spotted driving the Toyota that was taken from Juliet Road.

Jackson is charged with Burglary 2nd degree, three counts of Grand Larceny 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
