Service between Huntington and Hicksville on the Port Jefferson Branch is back to normal Tuesday after the line was suspended for much of the morning commute following a pedestrian death.

The person was struck east of the Syosset station around 6 a.m., prompting the hours-long suspension and residual delays of up to 90 minutes when trains started running again.

The Oyster Bay and Ronkonkoma branches were also affected.

Further information of the victim and the circumstances were not known.
