Man finds the answer to health problems -- and a new business -- in bones

When Ron Mirante was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease a couple of years ago, he grew tired of being under heavy pharmaceuticals.

He decided to explore the benefits of healthy eating -- much of this involved simmering bones in broth for many hours -- and slowly his health improved and he was able to stop using drugs to treat his condition completely.

Mirante and his wife began preparing the food for their friends, too, and eventually decided to strike out on their own with the "Bone In" meal delivery service.

They prepare broths and an assortment of other healthy meals. Plus, they have healthy market items to stock pantries and fridges. In addition to delivery, they also sell their food at various farmers markets.

Currently, the company delivers to Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne and other areas of Hudson County, N.J. Demand has been strong and they plan to expand to other parts of New Jersey.
