BREEZY POINT (WABC) -- A team of NYPD officers took part in a dramatic rescue Thursday off the coast of Queens.

At about 1:30 p.m., the NYPD was requested by the Coast Guard to respond to a call of man suffering from chest pains on board the dredge barge Super Chief south of Breezy Point.

The officers helped the on-board paramedic in administering CPR to the 47-year old man who was in cardiac arrest, and then hoisted him off the barge in a rescue basket.

He is listed in critical but stable condition at Staten Island University Hospital South.
