Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is calling for tolerance when it comes to accepting refugees from Syria.
Adams returned Sunday from visiting a Syrian refugee camp in Turkey.
Monday night at a tree lighting ceremony, he called on others to embrace those in need, particularly the victims of war.
"Courage is found in every generation, but every so often courage skips a generation. Courage will not skip our generation, we will stand up for the refugees of Syria," Adams said.
Adams, with dozens of local clergy members, issued a joint interfaith call for shared responsibility to help the refugees.
