BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Two men, believed to be father and son, were stabbed in broad daylight in Brooklyn Friday afternoon.
The incident happened at Pitkin Avenue and Tomas S. Boyland Street in the Brownsville section.
In the middle of broad daylight, a flood of sirens brought cars and bystanders to a standstill.
"All I heard is just sirens going off and then I see somebody getting pulled from the side," said Klodijan Makelara, witness. "There was maybe like 40 people trying to stop traffic, it was pretty intense."
Police sources say 21-year-old Christopher Caraballo was walking along Pitkin Ave with his 47-year-old father Wilbert, when a group men ambushed them repeatedly stabbing the pair with a knife.
Witness cell phone pictures captured the bloody and chaotic aftermath that followed just before first responders arrived.
"His shirt pants all bloody," Makelara said. "Numerous cop cars, the whole block was covered."
The younger Caraballo, Chris, was brought to Brookdale Hospital where he's since been upgraded to stable condition. Sources say his father suffered less serious injuries.
In the meantime, police remain on the hunt for the suspects responsible.
"It's sad, it's a shame, honestly, it makes me scared," Makelara said.
