NEW YORK (WABC) -- At this year's New York International Auto Show, you'll see two staple family cars that are still around 40 years later.
The Chrysler Pacifica is rolling out as a newly-designed version of the mini-van 30 years after the first one, and Honda has re-designed the Civic that has been around for four decades.
They are two vehicles that are still attracting new looks after many years on the market.
Revealed to the auto world 30 years ago, the Pacifica became a solid work horse in the family driveway. The new version has been re-engineered, company officials say, to offer 100 safety features.
Chrysler says they've also worked hard to improve fuel economy, as in the past, the Pacifica has ranked among the worst in that area.
It still features the popular stow-and-go seating, and it now has a 10-inch Uconnect theater with games and apps.
Selected the North American car of the year, the Honda Civic sports several different models and is still attracting first-time buyers.
"A lot of people trust the Civic name because it's been around for so long," Senior Analyst Jessica Caldwell said.
The Civic gets 42 miles per gallon highway and 31 in the city, offering great economy and reliability to buyers.
Showing off a hatchback concept at the auto show, the Civic is already looking to roar into another decade.
