RIVERSIDE PARK (WABC) -- A coyote is off the streets of Upper Manhattan after leading police on a wild chase.

The female coyote was tranquillized in Riverside Park an hour and a half after being spotted in the area on Saturday night.

The quick canine evaded officers on foot and in patrol cars. They eventually corralled it inside a fenced basketball court.

Police say it took a while to tranquilize the animal because the darts kept freezing.
